Another of my favourites, you can’t see the main fairway from the tee, anything in the rough to the left is interesting, if you miss right you end up under the hill and have a blind shot for your next.
Taking it deep over the hill puts you into another undulating fairway that slopes towards the green, it could kick forwards, left, right or just stop in the bottom of a depression. Getting it just past the top of the hill lets you see possibly the smallest green in the complex, a small bank to the back and right, a drop to the left and front. The most important feature at times is the siren call of the Mussenden’s halfway hut, calling to you to give up your folly.
Resist and you will be rewarded with the best par 3 on the course, and the second best on the complex.
