When you finish climbing to the gents tee box take a moment to catch your breath and drink in the view out over the Barmouth and Castlerock beach. Try not to pay much attention to how narrow the fairway looks from where you are, it does get wider. The only hole on the course where a driver could be a valid option, a shot in the middle to left of the fairway will set you up with a potential shot at the green, most of the trouble is on the right.
A true traditional links fairway in front of the green, pocked with natural ebbs and flows, make running a ball up to the green difficult but not impossible, hit your second and play it 10-15 feet short of the dance floor (on a hot summer's day that may not be enough) and allow the ball to run up, if it doesn’t you can tidy up with a wedge.
